The Syntace P6 Carbon HiFlex is designed to gently dampen road vibrations so you can be more efficient while pedaling. To increase comfort while still limiting sideways movement, Syntace designed the seatpost with the ability to flex backward under load. Syntace did this by meticulously arranging the carbon fiber structure.
I was relubing the seatpost shim today to alleviate the annoying creaking that pops up when the shim runs dry and noticed an indentation in the clear coat of the post. The post didn't appear to be cracked, but from what it looks like the collar and the shim have made a triangle shaped imression in the carbon's clear coat.
If the creak persists, it may be from the crank area, but if you cannot hear it then it may be from the saddle or seat post. While bottom brackets are not always the source of the creak, the influx of press-fit bottom brackets over the last few years has made them the number one scapegoat for creaking thanks to poor manufacturing tolerances and ...

Seatposts can creak in the frame. For metal seatposts in metal frames, pull the seatpost out, clean and regrease, and then reinstall (use friction paste if either part is carbon). It's a good idea...
They took the seatpost out, reapplied the carbon paste, reinstalled, and re-torqued. It didn't creak. Took it home and went for a ride. No creak. Took the bike out today.....creak is back with a vengeance. All the mechanics at the shop claim that none of them has ever heard of a seatpost creaking and have no idea what I'm talking about.
The seatpost is Giant's own D-Fuse, a narrow carbon post with a D-shaped profile. It does mean you can't upgrade to an aftermarket offering, but it offers so much flex, I don't see why you'd want to. Over the rough stuff it really takes out the worst of the bumps and vibration, so at speed you aren't getting bounced around in the saddle, which makes you more efficient.
Never clamp your bike by its carbon frame. Instead, clamp the seatpost. If it's a carbon seatpost or seatmast/integrated seatpost, you can clamp it there if your repair stand has compliant rubber jaws made to grip carbon seatposts safely (these clamps fit round, oversize and aero/non-round carbon seatposts).

I could literally be anything. A part that is tight but not tight enough or not enough grease in the right places, i.e. the threads. Maybe a par that is worn down or a metal on metal part. I purchased a really nice, single bolt, 27.2 cm x 350cm, C2 Cannondale, carbon wrapped seatpost on eBay mostly for looks and the one bolt clamping feature, for my Fuji Team FC-770. The stock, 2-bolt alloy seatpost is 300cm, so the new post extends 50cm deeper into the downtube.

Apr 27, 2009 · MBA: Creaking frame disease is a recurrent theme at Ask MBA–especially among carbon fiber and titanium frame owners. If you built your Specialized with the same bottom bracket, you may be getting some noise from micro-motion between the bearings and the aluminum cups.
July 2014 edited July 2014 in Workshop. I removed and re-greased my carbon-on-carbon seatpost last night using Finish Line carbon assembly paste, and tightened the fixing bolt correctly using a... The noise was coming from the seat post. Removing the dirt, reapplying some grease and re-tightening the clamp solved the problem. I have also identified that the seat clamp is kind of broken, and the saddle was not leveled. Thanks for the comments, I didn't know that noises coming from the seat post were that common. Some seatposts are slippery, and require more torque to stay put, and others are very thin- and can be crushed by overzealous tightening. Some are both slippery and thin... Make sure you use the Carbon Assembly Compound included with your carbon frame, and use some common sense.

Jun 11, 2020 · The hidden seatpost clamp is above the average. The max torque is 6 Nm, which is not low and you won’t face with a high risk if you don’t have a torque wrench, which is convenient for adjustment at the road side. The locking power is OK. I didn’t apply the carbon paste but the seatpost hold its position well.
